Jr. High Youth Ministry

This year we've started something different.

Our Jr. High Youth Ministry and our Faith Formation class are not separate - they are one ministry. This will give a more comprehensive approach to our ongoing discipleship.  We don't skimp on the catechesis, but we place it within the whole of comprehensive ministry to, with, by, and for the young people.  In addition to catechesis, the ministry will focus on things such as: Leadership Development, Pastoral Care, Prayer & Worship, Justice & Service, Community Life, and more.

Our Jr. High Ministry (& Faith Formation 'class') has two meeting options:  The ministry meet every Monday starting August 28th from 6:00pm until 7:30pm at St. Gregory the Great Catholic School or on Wednesdays (following the calendar for the other Faith Formation classes) from 5:30pm-7:00pm also at St. Gregory the Great Catholic School. All students in grades 6-8 are invited and encouraged to attend. Friends (Jr. High school aged) are always welcome at any of our Youth Ministry gatherings regardless of their faith background. Parents are also welcome to join us to see all that we do during our meetings.

Our Jr. High Ministry is more than our Monday or Wednesday meetings. We offer and participate in a variety of programming at both the local and diocesan levels. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We hope to see you soon!

Middle School Retreat -- April 20-21

As we move forward and grow our ministry I would like to form a parent advisory board to meet a few times a year (Quarterly) to discuss the youth ministry direction, activities, ways to improve, how to plug into the parish overall - not remain a separate community, and to share any concerns that you may have or hear about.  If you would be interested in serving on such a committe/board, please contact Mike Sylvester in the parish office.
